Manual Handling

Course Description

This course provides the participants knowledge and practical application of skills to minimise the risks of manual handling in their workplace.


Course Content

Topics include:

  • Consideration of the work environments specific manual handling risks.
  • Human anatomy and structure including the characteristics, operation and limitations of joints and the spine.
  • Common causes of manual handling injuries in the workplace.
  • Methods to safely and effectively move the body in every day tasks, including sitting, standing and general day to day manual handling tasks;
  • Practical application of the training, with various tasks carried out by participants in the workplace, under the guidance of the trainer, to apply the skills to their everyday tasks.

Delivery mode

Training is delivered face to face including both theory and practical components, with a strong emphasis on the practical application of skills.


Award and Recognition

Successful Participants will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
